India became independent of the United Kingdom on 15 August 1947. Though we got independence we did not have a permanent constitution. On 26th January 1950 the constitution was adopted and at that moment the country was declared as a Republic Day. On the same day, Dr. Rajendra Prasad became First President of Republic India. It was a memorable day when the constitution of India replaced the Government of India Act 1935 as a governing document of India. Finally, India was declared as a Sovereign, Secular, Socialistic and Democratic Republic, it clearly means that people of India have the strong power to govern the country themselves. The government has declared the national holiday.
As the National Republic Day approaches, the patriotic feeling within us starts arousing. On a special day the Government of India at Rajpath, New Delhi where a parade takes place by the India army, this big event will have occurred at the India Gate under the great presence of President of India by unfolding the National Flag and singing the National Anthem.
